Since the film’s release in theaters on December 5, Dhurandhar has been a topic of discussion across the country. The espionage thriller directed by Aditya Dhar stars Ranveer Singh, R Madhavan and Akshaye Khanna. Actor Saumya Tandon played the role of Akshay’s wife in the film. In an intense scene in the film, which has received praise from fans, her character slaps her after a tragedy. Soumya told that this was a real slap, which was given in one go.

Saumya shared BTS pictures from the shoot on her X account on Sunday to talk about the process on the sets. In the first picture, she was seen discussing the scene with Aditya and Akshay. She wrote, “1. This was my entry scene in the film, and the love it has received has truly overwhelmed me. In this scene, I felt everything at once – anger towards my husband for being the reason behind our son’s death, helpless frustration, and deep, shared pain between us. And yes, I did slap Akshay for real once – during his close-up, when Aditya insisted it should be authentic. I feel like cheating. Was hoping, but no such luck. My breakdown close-up was done in one take.”

In the second picture, she is seen sitting on the floor to pray. He wrote, “2. It was a prayer meeting after my son passed away. The pain I felt in that moment stayed with me – it came straight from the heart.”
About Dhurandhar
Dhurandhar is the story of an Indian spy named Hamza, who infiltrates deep into Pakistan to join the gang of Rehman dacoit. The film is inspired by real-life events ranging from the 2001 Parliament attack and the 26/11 Mumbai terrorist attacks, providing the audience with an insight into the India-Pakistan conflict. It also stars Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi in lead roles. The second part will be released in theaters on March 19, 2026.
