Getting a dream job in today’s market is not so easy as thousands of applicants send their resumes to the company. However, with a different approach, anyone can capture a recruiter’s attention and secure their dream job.
Recently, Paras Chopra, founder of software company Wingify, received a unique offer from an applicant: The applicant offered to pay him $500 if he was hired at the firm.

Chopra also shared a screenshot of the applicant’s message on her social media handle in Hindi. He wrote, “This is how you attract attention! (Obviously won’t take money but am very impressed with the pitch)”
According to the applicant’s proposal, he would pay Chopra $500 ( ₹41,000 (approximately Rs 41,000) if he is hired at Wingify and claims that if he does not prove his worth within the first week they will be free to fire him and keep the money.

The message read, “I want to work at Wingify. I have a unique offer for you. I’ll pay you $500 to hire me. If I don’t prove myself to be one of the best within a week then you can fire me and keep the money. Having said that, I will stay in the game and not waste your team’s time. Awaiting your disapproval.”
After this people started commenting on the post.
One netizen wrote, “I would do the same bet at 2x for the product role, but looks like this trick won’t work anymore.”
Another wrote, “It also speaks volumes about the sad state of jobs currently – where a candidate has to mention $$$ to get attention :)”

While one netizen commented, “This is a very bad pitch. It’s also bad for hiring managers to be influenced by this pitch.”
One social media user wrote, “This is a good DM, this message speaks volumes of the confidence of the person.”

Terrible take. If you’re optimizing this for the tallest DM it’s poisoning the culture,” wrote another.
