Delhi Airport: To fulfill all his dreams, Fateh Singh had moved to London in 2002. In the past two decades, Fateh used to miss his homeland and wanted to meet his loved ones. But, before going to London, he had left behind such a past in India, due to which he was not able to muster the courage to come back. After about 22 years, he thought that a thick layer of time would have covered the past and no one would remember anything about him. But the reality was completely different. There was someone in India who was eagerly waiting for Fateh even after two decades had passed.
Fateh Singh, who is 71 years old, decided to come to India amidst all the ifs and buts and apprehensions and on 22 August, he left for Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport by Air India flight AI-166. The next day, i.e. on 23 August, at around 10:35 am, Fateh’s flight landed at IGI Airport. After waiting for a few minutes, he stood at the Bureau of Immigration counter for the verification of his passport and visa. During the verification, as soon as he swiped the passport in the Pride software, the eyes of the immigration officer widened.
Pride reveals Fateh’s past
Actually, the travel history of Fateh Singh’s passport was showing blank in the immigration software ‘Pride’. After this, the interrogation of Fateh Singh started. As soon as the interrogation started, the immigration officer understood that the search for the ‘fraud’ Fateh Singh for whom the agency had been waiting for 22 years was going to be completed today. During the interrogation, Fateh Singh admitted that in 2002 he had managed to reach London by cheating. He had used someone else’s passport to reach London. This much confession of Fateh Singh was enough for the Bureau of Immigration.
Fateh’s helper arrested from Kaithal
The Bureau of Immigration took Fateh Singh into custody without any delay and handed him over to the IGI Airport Police for further investigation. The airport police registered a case against the accused Fateh Singh under sections 319(2) and 318(2) of the Indian Penal Code and arrested him. During interrogation, Fateh Singh made many shocking revelations in front of the police. He also told the police some names with whose help he got the passport of another person and they helped him in sending him to London.
