Tokyo. An All Nippon Airways (ANA) plane landed safely at Shin Chitose Airport in northern Japan after smoke was seen emanating from it during flight on Wednesday. The officers provided this information. During this time all 213 people on board the plane were safe.
ANA officials said non-flammable oil from the control system evaporated on contact with the hot engine, causing what appeared to be smoke. He said that the leak did not pose any threat to the safety of the people on board the plane. The leak activated the warning system in the cockpit. He said that the reasons for this incident are being investigated.
ANA Flight 71 from Tokyo’s Haneda Airport was carrying 204 passengers and nine crew members, the airline said. It landed safely and was later brought to the arrival terminal. The Chitose City Fire Department said it dispatched several fire engines. One of the two runways at New Chitose Airport near Sapporo was temporarily closed to clean up oil that had leaked from the plane.
In January, a Japan Airlines (JAL) flight collided with a coast guard plane at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport and caught fire. All 379 passengers and crew on board the JAL aircraft were evacuated and survived. The pilot of the Coast Guard aircraft was injured and five crew members were killed.
