Richard Gere has paid tribute to his Looking for Mr Goodbar co-star Diane Keaton, who died last week aged 79.

I haven’t seen her in a long time,” Gere said during a Thursday appearance on the Today show. He reminisced that Looking for Mister Goodbar was a difficult film, and that he and Diane took care of each other. He also praised her for her authentic personality.
“That was a tough movie, it was a very raw, sensual movie. And she’s quite shy and timid. And I was too. That was my second movie, and we took care of each other, going through such challenging physical scenes with each other,” Gere explained. “But I remember how sweet and gentle she was and how genuine she was. I think anyone who’s ever worked with her would say, ‘This is a real person.'”
