Comedian Kapil Sharma’s cafe in Surrey, Canada, was attacked for the third time on Thursday when unidentified gunmen opened several bullets at the restaurant. Kulveer Sidhu, allegedly linked to gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s network, claimed responsibility in a viral social media post and warned the “general public” to stay away.

According to City News Vancouver, Surrey Police Service is investigating reports of shots fired at the Cup Café located at 85 Avenue and 120 Street around 3:45 a.m. Video circulating online shows several bullets hitting the walls and windows of the cafe. A clip reportedly shot from inside a vehicle shows a man sticking his hand out the window and firing at least half a dozen shots from a handgun. Employees were reportedly inside the cafe when the shooting occurred, but no one was injured.
Kapil Sharma and his team have not issued any statement yet. Cups Cafe was earlier targeted on 9 July and 7 August. Soon after Thursday’s shooting, a post in the name of Goldie Dhillon surfaced, saying, “Today’s firing at Caps Cafe, Surrey was done by me, Kulveer Sidhu and Goldie Dhillon. We have no complaints from the general public. Those who are indebted to us or cheat us will be warned. Bollywood persons who speak against our religion should be warned.” You also be prepared, bullets can come from anywhere.”
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has reportedly targeted several celebrities including actor Salman Khan and attacked his Galaxy apartment last year. Caps Café is located in a mixed-use building in the Newton area of Surrey, with retail shops on the ground floor and residential apartments above. Police cordoned off the site while collecting evidence while children played at a local daycare nearby, exposing them to the danger to families and the public.
