OTT releases to watch this week: From upcoming romantic-comedies to cyber-thrillers, this week’s OTT releases have a lot to offer to a diverse audience. Goat – Netflix India
The GOAT aka The Greatest of All Time is a Tamil action-thriller starring Vijay in dual roles. It is considered to be Vijay’s last film before his political innings. The film is based on Gandhi, a former leader of an anti-terrorism squad, who reunites with his squad members to resolve problems arising from his past actions. The film also stars Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Mohan, Jayaram, Sneha, Laila, Ajmal Ameer, Meenakshi Choudhary, Parvati Nair, Vaibhav, Yogi Babu and Yugendran in important roles. The GOAT released on October 3 on Netflix India.
Heartstopper Season 3 – Netflix
Heartstopper is a British romantic comedy-drama series based on the webcomic and graphic novel of the same name by Alice Osman. The show tells the story of Charlie Spring (Joe Locke), a gay schoolboy who falls in love with classmate Nick Nelson (Kit Connor), with whom he dates his new form. Heartstopper explores themes of romance, friendship, aspirations and happiness. The new season of Heartstopper releases on Netflix on October 3.
CTRL – Netflix India
CTRL is a cyber-thriller starring Ananya Panday and Vihaan Samat in the lead roles. Ananya and Vihaan play an influential couple named Naila Awasthi and Joe Mascarenhas respectively. When Joe cheats on Nella, she enlists an artificial intelligence app to remove him from her life, but things take a sinister turn when the app takes control. The film is directed by Vikramaditya Motwane. CTRL will release on Netflix India on October 4.
The Signature – ZEE5
The Signature tells the story of an elderly man whose life takes a tragic turn when his wife becomes seriously ill and is hospitalized. As her condition worsens, the man faces many financial and emotional challenges in his efforts to save her. Despite her increasing despair, she finds support from an old college friend who helps her deal with her difficulties. Directed by Gajendra Ahire, the film stars Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Ranveer Shorey, Annu Kapoor, Manoj Joshi, Neena Kulkarni and others in important roles. The Signature will release on October 4 on ZEE5.
Manvat Murders – SonyLIV
Manawat Murders is a Marathi crime-thriller series directed by Ashish Avinash Bende and written by Girish Joshi. The show is an adaptation of Ramakant S Kulkarni’s book Footprints on the Sand of Crime. The series stars Ashutosh Gowarikar, Sai Tamhankar, Makarand Anaspure and Sonali Kulkarni in lead roles. Manvet Murders will release on SonyLIV on October 4.
