Nainital Tourism New Year 2026: The new year is a few steps away, but Nainital is already full. This time the number of tourists coming to Nainital can be estimated from hotel pre-booking. 90 percent of the hotels are already full. Last year this figure was half of this. Hotels are also full in Mukteshwar, Ramgarh, Shitala, Kausani. To make the New Year special, hotels have also created special packages of gala dinner, live music, special lighting and local cuisine.
Nainital. This time, there is tremendous excitement in the hill tourist places of Uttarakhand to welcome the New Year. Especially in the lake city Nainital, the influx of tourists has brought a smile back on the faces of tourism businessmen. The shocks that tourism faced in the last few months are now slowly being compensated. People associated with hotels, restaurants, taxis, horse riding, boat operations and small businesses have high expectations from this season. The number of tourists coming to Nainital on the occasion of New Year can be estimated from hotel pre-booking. Whereas last year by this time only 50 percent of the hotels could be booked, this time around 90 percent of the hotels are already full. In nearby major tourist places like Mukteshwar, Ramgarh, Shitala, Pangot and Bhimtal, 70 to 80 percent hotels have been booked in advance. Not only in Nainital, tourism has gained momentum in the entire Kumaon region.
Why were the tourists angry?
A huge crowd of tourists is being seen at Mall Road, Snow View, Naina Devi Temple, Tiffin Top and other tourist places of Nainital. Amidst the cold weather and beautiful views, tourists are seen enjoying boating in Naini Lake. As the evening approaches, Mall Road lights up with colorful lights, making the atmosphere of the New Year even more special. Nainital Hotel Association President Digvijay Singh Bisht said that the recent Pahalgam attack and communal tension in Nainital had a direct impact on tourism. Due to this, hoteliers and people associated with tourism had to suffer losses worth crores of rupees. However, in this December season, tourism activities have increased and so far almost 50 percent of the losses have been compensated. He expressed hope that if the tourist movement continues even after the New Year, then this season will prove to be important in recovering from the losses.
benefited from this step
Digvijay Singh Bisht said that this time, bookings had started coming in hotels even before the start of the tourism season, which in itself is a positive sign. To make the New Year special, special packages have also been prepared by the hotels. These include gala dinner, live music, special lighting and local cuisine. According to the traditional culture of Kumaon, hospitality is being extended to the tourists by applying Tilak, due to which the tourists are getting an opportunity to connect with the local culture. The recently organized Winter Carnival has also seen a positive impact on tourism. Such events not only increase the number of tourists but also benefit local artists and small traders. Businessmen believe that if such events continue, tourism in the mountains can gain momentum throughout the year.
