Currently, I am: Watching AI Mahabharat on Jio Hot Star.
High points in life: My Orangetherum at the age of seven. I think that was the beginning of my whole life as an artist and I refer to that moment a lot.
Low point in my life: My first heartbreak, and how I coped with it. I made music, I turned my pain into art.
On my playlist: Kailash Kher’s Saiyan; Shashwat Sachdeva’s Ghafoor, featuring Shilpa Rao and Ujwal Gupta; Khayaal, by Talwinder Singh Sidhu.
One thing I will never buy: Meat.
Today I’m craving: Hummus.
Last thing I ordered online: A kansa, gua sha and some copper balls to infuse the water with copper energy.
I checked the app before going to bed: Whatsapp. I talk to my parents all over the world. As soon as I go to bed, their day is starting.
I advise my 18-year-old: Be as you are; You will go far in life. Be clear about your passion and your vision for art.
My favorite subjects: History. If I weren’t a pop star, I’d be an archaeologist.
I would swipe right on this: Intelligence. If he is interested in history, even better.
My secret skill: I’m good at snowboarding.
I wish I had a magic tool: A teleportation device. Most times I have to cancel things because I can’t fly across the world to attend them.
Favorite Sunday Memory: During family lunches in America, we would get cans of amras from the Indian store and my mother would make hot puris.
My plans for next Sunday: A spa day.
My greatest moment: Working with John Legend on piano in his LA studio with all his Grammys. We collaborated on an anthem called Keep Walking.
My favorite bad habit: I can’t resist chocolate.
If I could travel back: I will go back and see the Indus Valley Civilization. I’ve been obsessed with it for years.
Best thing about fame: I use it to get access to museums.
Worst thing about fame: Very few artists are able to separate public and private life. And in some places, security may be an issue.
