Hyundai Creta EV will rival the MG ZS EV, Tata Curvv EV, Mahindra BE 6, BYD Atto 3, and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki e Vitara.
Hyundai Creta EV is one of the most awaited electric cars in the Indian passenger vehicle market. The upcoming electric SUV iteration of the popular Hyundai Creta will debut at the India Mobility Global Expo 2025, which is scheduled to begin on January 17 next year. Ahead of its global debut, the Hyundai Creta EV has been spotted road testing several times.
Hyundai Creta EV is going to be India’s third electric car. Also, the Creta EV will be produced locally in India, making it Hyundai’s first electric car to be manufactured locally in the country. With this EV, Hyundai aims to capture a larger share of the emerging Indian electric passenger vehicle market, where it sells the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and discontinued Kona Electric earlier this year. When launched, the Creta EV will take on the MG ZS EV, Tata Curve EV, Mahindra BE6, BYD Auto 3 and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki E Vitara.
Hyundai Creta EV: How will it be different from ICE Creta?
Despite being based on the internal combustion engine (ICE) powered incarnation of the SUV, the Hyundai Creta EV will be different from its conventional fuel-powered sibling. The front profile is expected to have a closed panel, as the EV will not require any radiator. The Creta EV’s LED headlamps and LED daytime running lights will look similar to the Creta ICE, but there will be differences. The Creta EV is also expected to get distinctive bumpers, alloy wheels with aerodynamic design and distinct LED taillights.

Inside the cabin too, the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV will offer differences with its ICE sibling. It will get a new three-spoke steering wheel, dual 10.25-inch digital screens combining the touchscreen infotainment system and instrument cluster, a dual-zone climate control, a new center console with dual cup holders, repositioned ventilated seat buttons, etc. Other features will include a 360-degree surround view camera, a redesigned rotary dial, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold function, etc. The most exciting feature will be the Level 2 ADAS suite.
The upcoming Hyundai Creta EV is expected to have a 60 kWh battery pack with a single electric motor. The battery pack will provide a range of approximately 500 kilometers on a single charge.
