A phobia is a type of anxiety disorder. It can trigger an irrational fear of a particular thing, situation, or activity in a person. “Phobias can be managed effectively with the right approach. The goal of overcoming a phobia is not to eliminate all anxiety, but to accept some of the anxiety related to the phobia and be able to manage it. While overcoming a phobia can take time and effort, it is possible to reduce its impact on your life and improve your ability to cope with situations that cause fear,” wrote therapist Carolyn Rubenstein.
