Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that Tinsukia Medical College has received official recognition from the National Medical Commission.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday said that Tinsukia Medical College in Assam has received official recognition from the National Medical Commission, making it the 13th institute for medical studies in this northeastern state.
He said that a total of 100 graduate seats have been approved every year.
“Great news for the people of Assam. The National Medical Commission has officially recognised Tinsukia Medical College, approving 100 undergraduate admissions per year. With this, the number of medical colleges in Assam has now increased to 13,” Sarma posted on Twitter.
He expressed gratitude to the medical fraternity of the state for this achievement and also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for inaugurating the Tinsukia Medical College and Hospital.
The Chief Minister said, “This achievement is an important step towards enhancing healthcare education and services in our state.”
Modi had inaugurated the facility on March 9 during his two-day visit to the state.
