AIIMS, Delhi responded to a query under the RTI Act, and said that about 35 percent of faculty posts are vacant.
About 35 percent of faculty posts in All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi are vacant, the Premier Healthcare Institute has revealed.
Under the Right to Information Answer to a Query (RTI) Act, AIIMS-DELHI’s administrative official said that 430 faculty seats were vacant in the institute against the sanctioned strength of 1,235.

The application was filed by RTI activist MM Shuja, who sought information about the functioning of AIIMS Delhi in January this year. The institute provided information to the applicant on 18 March.

The institute revealed that it advertised 172 posts of Assistant Professors in 2019, but only 110 candidates attended.
In 2021 and 2022, only 173 assistant professors and three associate professors joined the institute in the College of Nursing, as the 270 vacant posts were advertised.

There was no recruitment for regular faculty posts in 2020, 2023, 2024 and the first three months of the current year.
