This wastes time and the victim is not able to get timely treatment and in such a situation, he may even die. Regarding this, the Local 18 team spoke to Dr. Shweta Sharma working in the Medicine Department of Lala Lajpat Rai Medical College.
Medical treatment is the only solution
Dr. Shweta Sharma says that every year in this season, many cases of snake bite come to the medical college. The patient suffering from snake bite is provided better treatment by the medical. She told that the Uttar Pradesh government has made vaccines related to snake bite available in the medical college. In such a situation, if the patient is brought to the hospital on time, then even if someone is bitten by the most poisonous snake, there is a high possibility of his life being saved. She says that time is the most important in this case. The sooner the victim reaches the hospital, the greater will be his chances of survival.
Don’t become an expert yourself
Dr. Shweta Sharma says that it is seen that if a person is bitten by a snake, people around start talking about many things. She said that if a person is bitten by a snake, it is most important for him to get better treatment. She said that treatment is necessary for all types of snake bites. Therefore, instead of becoming an expert yourself, consult a doctor.
Sometimes the symptoms are seen after a delay
If any person is bitten by any poisonous creature while working in the field or at any time and he does not know who has bitten him, then he should immediately go to the hospital. Actually, many times the symptoms come late. In such a situation, the snake bite cannot be detected. However, she says that if there is a complaint of difficulty in breathing, sudden sleep, unconsciousness or low blood pressure after feeling someone biting or stinging, then immediately go to the expert. All these symptoms are considered to be of snake bite.
Be sure to keep this in mind
According to Dr. Shweta Sharma, if anyone is bitten by a snake, first of all, ensure that the bitten part is not moved at all. Just as a plaster is tied to keep the part straight when a person has a fracture, similarly, do not move the snake bitten part at all. Also, do not let the victim sleep. Also, never tie that part of the body with any hard object because it stops the blood flow in the veins. Many times, this also worsens the condition of the patient. She told that many such patients come to the medical college whose lives are saved by providing better health services.
