The Invincible season 2 finale will truly create a bloody mess that no one can handle. However, this latest scoop has fans quite hopeful as it has been confirmed that actor Josh Keaton is lending his voice to an episode of the upcoming sequel season of the adult animation series.
For those unaware, here’s a quick reminder – Keaton is the same man who voiced the character of the web slinger in the superhero animated series The Spectacular Spider-Man. Even if this turns out to be true, this would not be the first encounter between Peter Parker and Mark Grayson. There was a time when Invincible creator Robert Kirkman was also writing material for Marvel Comics.
This simple coincidence of fate at work brought together the epic ‘Spider-Man meets Invincible’ twist in Marvel Team-Up Vol. 3 #14. The same incident was also mentioned in the Invincible comics. So, are these two beloved superheroes about to cross paths again?
Spider-Man in Invincible Season 2?
X (formerly Twitter) user @Cryptic4KQual has often come out on occasion with credible leaks about the show. They are still sticking to the idea that Spider-Man will appear in Invincible Season 2 Part 2 when it premieres on Amazon Prime Video on March 14, 2024. Despite being called out for spreading the ‘false’, Scooper responded with an arrogant quip, insisting on his original claims.

In the same breath, Scooper @MyTimeToShineH Keaton agreed to the possibility of reprising the role of Spider-Man. When asked who he would play in Invincible, Keaton simply tweeted about “playing a character in one of the episodes”. In another follow-up tweet to a fan’s question, he responded that he didn’t get the full script and didn’t know the episode number because everything is “like NSA level security.”
It’s unclear whether Keaton is actually reprising his Spidey persona for his Invincible cameo. Sony Pictures, Marvel Studios, and Prime Video need to be on the same page to make things work.
Although Keaton is trying his best to earn his employee of the month badge from the creative team, his cheater-worthy, self-destructive reactions tell a different story altogether. He also voices Steve Rogers in the Disney+ series What If…. And even made a surprise appearance in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

Copyrights for web crawlers have been a complex web of confusion since the beginning of time (the same fiasco that led to The Spectacular Spider-Man being canceled after two seasons). While Sony has several stories in the Spider-Man universe, Marvel is developing its own Your Friendly Neighbor Spider-Man series. Additionally, Sony has also signed a deal with Prime Video to develop Silk: Spider Society and Spider-Man Noir.
So, in a strangely anarchic way, each production banner is undoubtedly connected to the other through a network of web heads. This would make it easier to pass the issue bluntly, but we know that everything is easier said than done when it comes to building relationships with Marvel Comics characters in the wider cinematic universe. Only the Invincible Season 2 Part 2 premiere will be able to allay every fear and prove us right or wrong.
