The charge sheet also named Congress leaders Sam Pitroda and Suman Dubey as accused persons.
Jairam Ramesh said in his X post, “Seizing the property of National Herald is a state-provided offense that is in the form of law rule.”
The Congress leader said, “There is nothing but to file a charge sheet against Mrs. Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and some others, the politics of Vandetta and the intimidation by PM and HM,” the Congress leader said, “said.
Ed on Rahul and Sonia Gandhi in National Herald case
Ed’s Special Public Prosecutor NK Matta filed a charge sheet against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi for the prevention of Money Laundering Act under Section 3 (Money Laundering) and 4 (punished for money laundering).
The ED investigation began in 2021, when a metropolitan magistrate took cognizance of a personal complaint filed by BJP leader Subramanian Swamy on 26 June 2014 at Patiala House Courts in Delhi.
The ED said that the complaint highlighted a “criminal conspiracy” by several major political data, including Sonia Gandhi, her MP son Rahul Gandhi, late Congress leaders Motilal Vora and Oscar Fernandes’s first family members of the Congress party, which is a private company for Money, Pitroda and a private company, 2,000 crores related to Associated Journal Limited (AJL).
AJL is a publisher of the National Herald News Platform (newspaper and web portal), owned by Young Indian Private Limited.
Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi are the majority shareholders of the young Indian, each has 38 percent shares. He was questioned by Ed for hours a few years ago.
The ED claimed that its investigation “decisively found” a private company “a private company” beneficially owned “young Indian,” AJL Properties “by” a private company “by Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. 2,000 crores for only one 50 lakhs reduced its merit significantly.
