Akshay confirmed for Street 3
Earlier this week, Maddock Films announced its upcoming line-up and shared that Stree 3 is scheduled for theatrical release on August 13, 2027. The topic of Stree 3 came up during the trailer launch of Sky Force where Akshay joked that the film is his identity. ‘Dedh’ collaboration with Dinesh Vijan, reports AyraNews24x7.
At the event, Akshay was asked whether he would now be a part of the producer’s horror-comedy universe. To this Akshay said, “What can I say? Dinesh and Jyoti (Deshpande; producer) will have to decide this. They are the ones who will invest the money.”
Hinting that he will be back for Stree 3, Akshay said, “And Amar Kaushik has to direct it.” Amar Kaushik directed Stree 2, which did really well at the box office in 2024.
Responding to this, Dinesh confirmed the news saying, “Of course, he is a part of the universe! He’s our Thanos (laughs).”

Stree 2 was one of the biggest blockbuster hits last year. And one of the major reasons behind the success of this horror comedy was the many cameo roles, which left fans wanting more. The biggest cameo and a complete surprise was Akshay Kumar as Chandrabhan’s descendant, Chanderi’s fun-loving, alcoholic, chauvinist father who murdered the woman and her husband. He finds Vicky and his gang in a mental hospital in Bhopal.
In Stree 2, Akshay, wearing a blonde wig, is shown standing on a wheelchair, imagining himself to be Mughal emperor Shah Jahan and asking for information about the Taj Mahal. He plays the role with great fun, giving Jana kisses and puzzles to help solve the gang’s problems.
The film ended by hinting that Akshay will have a bigger role as a supervillain in the upcoming installment.
