Who was the famous beggar Thakur in Bihar? ‘Dhobia Naach’ will be organized on whose birth anniversary, old dance will be organized

Bhojpur:- On the occasion of the 137th birth anniversary of Bhikhari Thakur, an effort will be made to revive the extinct art at the Bhikhari Thakur stage located at Patel bus stop. There will be Ganga Snan, traditional singing by Dharamraj Baba, Purabi Nirgun by Ashish Dubey and presentation of Sharda Sinha Smriti and other songs by Ankita Pandit of Gorakhpur. Apart from this, Gond dance and Dhobia dance will also be organised. The program will be organized by Bhikhari Thakur Social Research Institute on 16, 17, 18 December.

Efforts to keep traditional dances alive
With the aim of preserving the extinct traditional dances of Bhojpuri, there will be presentation of Katghodwa and Dhobia dance by Ghazipur team, Gond dance by Daroga Gond, Tuntun Gond team and Bhojpuri songs in classical dance style by Bakshi Vikas. Bhojpuri Kavi Sammelan will also be organized on the first day of the program, in which poetry will be recited by many famous Bhojpuri poets. The play written by Bhikhari Thakur will be staged by Suresh Prasad’s team. This year’s special honor of Bhikhari Thakur Cultural Forum will be given to folk singer Ankita Pandit.

The venue will be decorated with Bhojpuri art by Sanjeev Sinha of Sarjana. The list of other annual honors will be published after discussion in the upcoming meeting. Presentation and speech competition will be organized in Bhojpuri by local school students. With the aim of giving a new direction to the Bhojpuri mass movement, a discussion will be organized on 17th December on the topic ‘Crisis of identity and identity of Bhojpuri language’, in which famous scholars and research students of the country will be present for the discussion. This time it was decided by the institute to publish an annual souvenir, in which international level research articles will be given space. The cover page of the souvenir will be unveiled during the Lokotsav.

Folk artist and expert in dance and music
Local 18 was told by Chandrashekhar, a member of Bhikhari Thakur Research Institute, that Bhikhari Thakur ji was a folk artist. He lived for dance and music. Traditional dances and songs of Bhojpuri and many other cultures have been presented by them. Because of which his identity had become different in the society. But after his death, Bhojpuri society has slowly started forgetting its civilization, culture and tradition. To bring it back and show it to the new generation, on the occasion of his birth anniversary, we want to bring his style in front of everyone once again. Because of this, this time it has been planned that traditional dances like Gond Naach, Dhobia Naach, etc. will be performed. Apart from this, music like Nirgun and Ganga Snan are being started once again.
