America’s Geological Survey Department gave this information. 15 people got minor injuries due to this earthquake. However, more losses are expected. The earthquake in this small country situated at a distance of more than 4300 kilometers from India has created fear among the people.
The population of more than 2 crore people here is in fear of earthquake tremors. According to the US Geological Survey Department (USGS), this earthquake was felt at 12.17 am local time. The epicenter of the earthquake was located 12 kilometers north of Yujing, Taiwan.
According to the Central Meteorological Administration of Taiwan, the intensity of the earthquake was recorded at 6.4 on the Richter scale. There is no immediate information about any death due to the earthquake. However, rescue workers are still assessing the extent of damage caused.
Taiwan’s Fire Brigade Department said that 15 people were sent to the hospital with minor injuries. The department said that these include six people, including a child, who were rescued from the debris of a house in Nanxi district of Tainan city. The Zhuwei Bridge, located on a provincial highway, was reported damaged.
