WBSSC SLST Assistant Teacher Result Released: West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) on Friday declared the results of State Level Selection Test (SLST) for Assistant Teachers in classes 11-12. The results can be seen on the WBSSC website westengalssc.com.

The results pave the way to fill around 13,000 assistant teacher vacancies in state-run and state-aided schools.
Education Minister Bratya Basu said the examination was conducted in a transparent manner, giving new hope to thousands of candidates.
“Made possible due to the initiative of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the outcome is not just an administrative move but will materialize the possibility of new recruitment by December,” he said in a post on X. He promised the state’s support to make every future move transparent and rule-bound.
Candidates who pass the test will proceed to the interview process, which evaluates academic skills, subject knowledge and communication abilities – competencies essential for effective teaching.
After the interview, a final merit list will be prepared on the basis of combined marks of both the stages. Successful candidates will have to undergo document verification, submit original educational certificates, mark sheets and valid identity proof before final appointment is confirmed.
More than 2.29 lakh candidates had written the paper on September 14.
A senior WBSSC official said it was not immediately possible to find out how many of the 26,000 teachers who lost their jobs after the Supreme Court’s April 1 decision had passed the new test.
“A large number of spotless candidates are expected to qualify the examination,” the official said.
