Amid the wedding season in India, a Mumbai-based company is launching systematic investment plans (SIPs) for destination weddings.
The preview of this SIP plan surfaced on Platform X and later circulated on Instagram. The promotional poster of the scheme is titled “SIP for Destination Marriage.”
There is a monthly contribution limit from 11,000 43,500.
The post has received 17,034 likes along with reactions. One user wrote, “It has become difficult for us adults to save money and now weddings have also become so expensive. How will anyone ever save money?”
While another user wrote, “One person wrote, “Kist awadhi bhi to batao bhai (Please tell the installment period also brother.)”, while another joked, “Shaadi ki ROI is less than FD (Shaadi ki “ROI is lower) than FD.”
Meanwhile, a user wrote, “Ab, Shaadi se pehle mahurat aur market dono track karna padega (Before the wedding, now, one must track both the auspicious time and the market.)”
Another person made a comparison between marriage returns and fixed deposits, highlighting the perceived difference in returns. A fourth expressed frustration over the challenges of saving money as an adult, especially in the face of rising wedding expenses.
