Lucknow / Anjali Singh Rajput: Why do people of Uttar Pradesh go to visit the mountains, when there are many dense forests here too. For example, how many of those who go to Chitrakoot know that this district has Ranipur Wildlife Sanctuary, which is UP’s fourth and the country’s 53rd Tiger Reserve area spread over an area of 230 kilometers. Why don’t people going to Ayodhya see the beauty of Katarnia Ghat? Why are the tribals not being connected to organic farming? All these questions have been raised by Environment and Forest Minister Arun Kumar Saxena.
On the completion of 50 years of Uttar Pradesh Forest Corporation Foundation Day, a program was organized at Hotel Clark Avadh on Thursday. During this, issues like forest fires, death of lions and tigers or their becoming man-eaters were also discussed. Many senior journalists of Lucknow also participated in this program, in which a senior journalist Sunita Aren raised the issue of increasing the number of plantations every year as well as furniture becoming expensive. She said that now the forest department will have to focus on manufacturing wooden items and skill development. So that, the local people can benefit from it.
There is no better forest than Sonbhadra
Another senior journalist Bhupendra Pandey asked that people of Uttar Pradesh should not go to the mountains for a trip, but should go to the Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh. The best forest of the country is here. All the places related to nature need to be made convenient under tourism. Another senior editor Ashutosh Shukla said that the world is running after organic produce. Whereas God knows what all is being sold in the market in its name. After all, who can do organic farming better than the tribals living in the forest. If the tribals do this farming on PPP mode, then both the facilities in the forest and the health of the people will increase. This session was chaired by Sunil Kumar, Additional Managing Director Certification of Forest Corporation and conducted by Sujay Banerjee. Mukesh Kumar Singh of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry also registered his presence in this program.
These issues were discussed
During this, Environment and Forest Minister Dr. Arun Kumar Saxena said that UP is a leading state in scientific management of forests. A tourist can make a big contribution in the field of forest conservation. Forest Corporation needs to study to enhance the value of tendu leaves, herbs, bamboo and others. During this, Additional Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh has emphasized on working towards carbon credit for farmers. Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Sudhir Kumar Sharma said that in the first technical session, river training and restoration were discussed. In the second, harvesting processing and marketing of NTFP were discussed in detail.
