Anti -India activities of Khalistan supporters in Canada are not taking the name of stopping. In the latest case, Khalistani and anti -India slogans were written on the walls of a historic gurudwara in Vancouver and some temples in British Columbia.
The incident of pro -Khalistan graffiti on the walls of the gurudwara located on Ross Street in Vancouver here has spread outrage in Sikh and Hindu communities on Saturday. Leaders of Khalsa Dewan Society Gurdwara, local organizations and Canadian MP Chandra Arya have strongly condemned the incident.
The management of the gurudwara said in a statement, ‘This act has been done to some Sikh separatists advocating Khalistan, who wrote divisive slogans on the wall of our holy site. This is part of an organized campaign that aims to create fear and split in the Canadian Sikh community.
The statement further stated,
Their behavior is against the values of both Sikhism and Canadian society- inclusion, honor and help of each other. We appeal to all Canadian citizens to stand united against such radicalism.According to the report of Vancouver Sun, the police is investigating the incident, although no arrest has been made so far.
Attacks on Hindu temples are also continuing
On the other hand, a Hindu temple in the British Columbia province was also allegedly targeted by Khalistan supporters and vandalized there. The Hindu Chamber of Commerce condemned this act and wrote on social media, ‘We strongly condemn the incident of sabotage by Khalistani fundamentalists at Lakshmi Narayan Temple of BC. This is an anti -Hindu action, which should not have any place in Canada.
Canadian MP Chandra Arya also expressed concern about this attack and said,
‘Attacks on Hindu temples continue continuously for the last few years. This refreshing graffity is another frightening sign of the growing effect of Khalistani fundamentalism. These elements are not only organized and financially strong, but they also have political support.Arya further said that now these radical gurdwaras are also targeting, such as the Khalsa Diwan Society Gurudwara of Vancouver. Their purpose is to create an atmosphere of fear and suppress Hindu voices in Canada.
On the other hand, Coalition of Hindus of North America also condemned the incident and said that he is standing with all the Sikhs and Hindu brothers and sisters whose places of worship have been impure.
