Moscow. The war between Russia and Ukraine is currently in full swing. In a counterattack, Volodymyr Zelensky has captured the Kursk region of Russia. Despite this, Russian President Vladimir Putin is not retaliating. The biggest question is why Putin is silent. Is he making some big plan to respond to Zelensky or does he lack resources? Ukraine captured the Kursk region of Russia after three weeks of fighting. Russia is still struggling to remove the Ukrainian army from Kursk. Russia’s surprisingly slow response to any occupation of its territory for the first time since the Second World War seems to be. It is also believed that it all depends on the number of Russian forces and their priorities. Russia, which has increased its attacks inside Ukraine on a large scale, does not even have enough logistical reserves to drive out Kiev’s army.
However, Russian President Vladimir Putin does not consider this attack to be a serious enough threat to justify withdrawing troops from the Donbass region of eastern Ukraine and sending them to the Kursk region, which is his first goal. Putin’s focus is on the collapse of the Ukrainian government. After which he believes that the occupation of any territory will automatically become irrelevant. Months after launching a full-scale attack in 2022, Putin illegally annexed the Ukrainian regions of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson as part of Russian territory. Complete occupation of those areas has been his biggest priority.
Russia intends to capture the strategic city of Pokrovsk
On August 6, Ukrainian forces entered the Kursk region, while Russian troops continued their slow advance around the strategic city of Pokrovsk and other parts of the Donetsk region. Experts believe that Russia is largely prepared to continue the attack towards Pokrovsk and not move resources from Pokrovsk to Kursk. Ukrainian forces have built extensive fortifications in Pokrovsk, while other parts of Donetsk that are still under Ukrainian control are less secure. If Pokrovsk falls, these areas could be much more vulnerable to a Russian attack.
The Ukraine war which America was proud of destroyed it. Putin was hurt, then why was Zelensky sad?
Putin said- Kursk attack was a ploy
Regarding the Kursk attack in a televised meeting with officials, Putin said that it was a ploy to slow down the Russian campaign in Donetsk. He said that despite the incidents of attack in Kursk, Russia has advanced rapidly in many areas. Putin has tried to give very little importance to Kiev’s attack in Kursk by focusing on the capture of four areas of Ukraine. At the same time, Russia’s state media presented the attack on Kursk as evidence of Kiev’s aggressive intentions and said that this is further proof that Russia was justified in attacking Ukraine.
