Toyota Kirloskar Motor has opened a new experiential space called TAME (Toyota Experiential Museum) at the Phoenix Mall of Asia in Bengaluru, the company’s first cultural and lifestyle center that aims to expand the brand beyond automobiles. The initiative has been designed as a space that brings together elements of Japanese and Indian cultural philosophies, presented through sensory and technology-driven installations.
Spread over 8,200 square feet on the ground floor of the mall, the temple is designed as a walk-through space, which visitors can explore independently at their own pace without a guided tour. Toyota describes the museum as an environment that aims to engage all five senses of the human body through visual projection rooms, sound-based installations, textured art surfaces, curated aromas and even a tasting corner.
Speaking at the launch, Tadashi Asazuma, Deputy Managing Director, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said, “At Toyota, our vision of creating ‘Happier Paths Together’ goes beyond mobility – it is about inspiring experiences that connect people, cultures and emotions. With the temple, we hope to deliver a truly unique experience that embodies this spirit. In India, we found inspiration in the practice of Sadhana – of inner balance and contentment.” Careful exploration. The temple is where Japanese culture and values of precision, peace and respect for nature marry beautifully, making it a meaningful blend of both the senses and sparking reflection, it brings together art, technology and craftsmanship to inspire awareness especially among the youth.
What can visitors expect inside

The entry experience includes infinite reflective projections and a rhythmic experience inspired by the changing seasons common in both India and Japan. Another installation is an audio-visual showcase created in collaboration with the performance group Drum TAO, featuring music and visual effects reflecting the cultural exchange between the two countries.
Walking through it eventually leads to a central exhibit of a satin-wrapped car surrounded by a waterfall. Flowing water, mist and lighting effects are used to create a peaceful visual environment.
