This city of UP attracts tourists, history is linked to Mughals

Khusro’s tomb is located here
There are four tombs built in a row in Khusro Bagh, located behind Prayagraj Junction. The tomb of Nisar Begum and Amir Khusro is situated in it. Both of them were the children of the famous ruler of the Mughal era, Jahangir. The Government Horticulture Department is located in Khusro Bagh itself, where research on guava is done on a large scale. No fee is charged to enter Khusro Bagh. That’s why more tourists come here. Local people also keep coming here every day.

Mughal period history of Khusro Bagh
The history of the Mughal period has been inscribed on a stone plaque near the tomb of Amir Khusro in Khusro Bagh. It is told that in 1605 AD, when Emperor Akbar fell ill, the Rajput tried to place Amir Khusro on the throne. But, during his last days, Akbar had installed Salim i.e. Jahangir on the throne. Seeing this rebellion, Amir Khusro was blinded and put in jail, which was being looked after by his brother Shahjahan. Amir Khusro died in 1622 AD while still in jail.

Who built the tomb of Amir Khusro?
Nisar Begum was the sister of Amir Khusro. He was so fond of his brother that he built Khusro’s tomb in Prayagraj. While alive, he also built his own tomb. The structure of this tomb is quite impressive. These four tombs built on platforms are built in a straight line, whose domes are the same. The sandstone mausoleum represents some of the finest architecture in history. This mausoleum is built with a geometric structure of stars with a circular dome. It is also said to be a copy of the tomb of Etmaddoula.
