In a historic moment for the Indian diaspora in Canada, the highest statue of Lord Ram in North America was unveiled at the Hindu Heritage Center in Mississaga, Ontario on Sunday. At an impressive 51 feet (except pedestal and umbrella), the fiberglass statue now stands as a spiritual and cultural landmark in the Greater Toronto region.
Thousands of devotees gathered for the inauguration, including prominent political leaders, including women ministers and gender equality Rechi Waldez, Treasury Board President Shafkat Ali, and International Trade Minister Maninder Sidhu. The Leader of the Opposition in the House of Commons was also in attendance, marking the program as a moment of national importance.
Netizens react
The unveiling of North America’s highest Lord Ram statue in Mississaga gave rise to emotional reactions on social media. One user wrote, “From Ayodhya, from Ontario, Shri Ram’s name echoes loudly than boundaries. It is not just a statue, it is a statement of prolonged faith and identity around the world.” Another mention has been mentioned, “Toronto, Canada: The tallest statue of Lord Shri Ram is now tall in Mississaga – a proud moment for the global Hindu community in a land where Hindus have faced growing hostility with fringe khalistani elements, it is more than the symbol of Murty Faith – this is a statement. It is a statement. Others said with messages. Others said with messages.” .”
To know everything
The statue, built in Delhi and gathered by skilled artisans in Canada, takes inspiration from the Ram Janambhoomi temple in Ayodhya. Manufactured with a steel superstructure and designed to last for at least 100 years, the idol is engineered to bear up to 200 km/h.
“This is a spiritual gift for the community,” said Acharya Surinder Sharma Shastri, founder of the Hindu Heritage Center. “The installation of this idol is not only a moment of pride, but also reminds that righteousness should always be a guiding factor in our life.”
The monumental project began four years ago and was made possible by an Indo-Canadian trade leader by a liberal donation. For Kushagra Sharma, the leading organizer of the incident, voting was going deep. “More than 10,000 people come together in devotion and unity to unveil the 51-foot high statue of Shri Ram, it was really remarkable. This incident was not only a celebration of our faith, but a proud moment for all Canadian people that give importance to cultural harmony and spiritual legacy.”
The location of the statue has made it even more prestigious symbol for new arrival in Canada. As Sharma said, the aircraft landing at Toronto Pearson International Airport often fly in the temple. Now, to congratulate the passengers, Lord Ram will have a royal person in the first sites – weapons, which is a huge symbol of peace and flexibility.
