Tata Motors has finally unveiled the production-spec version of the Sierra in India. The SUV will be launched on November 25, marking the return of the nameplate after 22 years. Here are the top three things you need to know about Tata Sierra.
Tata Sierra: Exterior
Sierra introduces a new design language to the Tata Motors portfolio. To stay true to the nameplate, the manufacturer has taken some inspiration from the original Sierra, which was discontinued in 2003.
A tall, boxy, upright stance with strong shoulder lines is adopted. The flat bonnet and utilitarian chunky look have also been retained. The biggest design feature of the new Sierra is, without a doubt, the alpine windows that the new SUV creates with a large glasshouse design and blacked-out pillars.

Up front, there is a blacked-out panel that houses the LED headlamps with turn indicators. It also has an LED-connected lightbar. The lower bumper is also quite thick, finished in gloss black, and there is a faux skid plate on offer as well.
Moving to the sides, there are chunky gloss black plastic cladding, flush-sitting door handles and alloy wheels with blacked-out A and C-pillars. At the rear there is a thin light bar that runs the width of the car. The boot itself is fairly straightforward, and also has a neatly placed spoiler. Like the front, the rear also gets a gloss black bumper with a faux skid plate.
Tata Sierra: Interior

The biggest highlight of the Sierra’s interior is the three-screen layout located on the dashboard. The driver gets the instrument cluster, then the infotainment system, followed by a screen for the passenger. We have also seen such a system on Mahindra XEV 9e.
The dashboard design is all-new, the steering wheel is taken from the Harrier, while the gear lever is taken from the Nexon. Unfortunately, the climate control panel is also taken from the Nexon. It’s a glossy black panel with tactile elements; It scratches quite easily, and because there are no physical buttons, the driver has to look down to operate it.
Tata Sierra: Expected Pricing
Tata Motors is expected to price the Sierra from The top-end variant is priced around Rs 17 lakh 22 lakhs. Both prices are ex-showroom.
