Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin initiated a cabinet reshuffle this week – promoting his son Udhayanidhi to the role of Deputy CM. On Saturday, Governor RN Ravi approved the reforms and V Senthil Balaji will also return to the Council of Ministers. Three sitting ministers have been removed from the state cabinet.
An official release from the Raj Bhavan indicated that Governor RN Ravi has also given the green signal to the appointment of Udhayanidhi Stalin as Minister of Planning and Development (along with his existing portfolios). He will take oath along with the new cabinet members on Sunday afternoon.
Meanwhile Senthil Balaji will return as Tamil Nadu minister – two days after being released from Chennai’s Puzhal Central Jail. Supreme Court grants bail to DMK MLA in money laundering case related to cash-for-jobs scam.
