In India, UPSC Civil Services Examination is considered one of the most challenging exams in the country. Every year, millions of candidates take this exam, but only a few are successful and reach prestigious positions like IAS and IPS. Among these successful persons are the architect Chandak of Nagpur, who performed through their ability and passion that the desire to serve the country goes beyond any attractive job offer.
Archit Chandak was born and nurtured in Nagpur, Maharashtra, and he always excelled academically. In 2012, he topped the United Entrance Examination (JEE) in his city, drawing wide attention to his talent. This achievement marked the beginning of his promising career.
After his success in Zee Main and Advance, Chandak enrolled at the country’s Premier Institute, IIT Delhi, where he earned a BTech degree in Mechanical Engineering. During his studies, he realized that his true call was in public service rather than the corporate sector.
During an internship, a Japanese company recognized the capacity of the Chandak and offered him a job with an annual salary package of Rs 35 lakhs. Despite this attractive proposal, he chose to carry forward his dream of serving the country and rejected the job.
After completing his B.Tech, Chandak started preparing for the Civil Services Examination. In 2018, he passed the UPSC exam in his first attempt, earning a post in All India Rank 184 and Indian Police Service (IPS).
Chandak’s first posting was in the form of Station House Officer (SHO) at Bajarpeth Police Station, Bhuswal, where he gained confidence of the local community through his work. He was later promoted to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in Nagpur.
In addition to its academic and professional achievements, the chants are emotional about fitness. He has completed 42 km Mumbai Marathon and enjoyed playing chess with a rating rating of 1820.
Chandak is now married to his UPSC batchmate IAS Soumya Sharma.
