Udaipur. In view of the increasing demand in the peak travel season of December, SpiceJet has announced to operate 5 additional flights on the Udaipur to Delhi and Mumbai routes. The airline has temporarily included new flights in its schedule between 17 and 22 December. This seasonal additional service will provide relief to passengers by increasing the option of seat availability on pick dates.
At present, a total of 24 flights operate from Udaipur’s Dabok Airport to 6 major cities – Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Indore. With these new flights being added by SpiceJet, connectivity on Delhi and Mumbai routes will be further strengthened. According to travel agents, in the month of December, due to wedding season, tourism and Christmas-New Year, the demand for flights increases many fold compared to normal days, due to which airlines operate additional flights by opening temporary slots.
How many flights on which day?
SpiceJet has decided to start the first additional flight on December 17. SG 9235 will fly from Udaipur to Delhi at 5.30 pm and reach Delhi at 7.30 pm. The airline will use 90-seat Q-400 aircraft on this route, this is the same route which often sees heavy booking pressure during the season, so this flight can prove to be a good relief for the passengers.
After this, two more flights have been added on 19th December, SG 9220 will depart from Udaipur to Delhi at 2.20 pm and reach Delhi at 3.50 pm. The second flight SG 9211 will take off from Udaipur to Mumbai at 4.30 pm and land at 6.20 pm. Boeing 737-800 aircraft have been installed on both these routes, which have 189 seats. SpiceJet has also scheduled two new flights on 22nd December, the date with highest number of passengers. SG 9212 will arrive from Mumbai to Udaipur at 10 am and reach at 11.30 am. Whereas, SG 9221 will depart from Delhi at 12.10 pm and land in Udaipur at 1.40 pm, only Boeing 737-800 will be deployed on both the flights.
All these flights are non-stop and will operate only for a day or so. The airline has included these in the official schedule, the travel industry believes that this step of SpiceJet is part of the strategy to handle seasonal traffic, which will provide special convenience to the passengers in planning their journey.
