According to local belief, the game of Hookah-Chukki starts on the evening of Diwali after lighting the lamps in all the houses. Dry wood kept in the courtyard of the house is set on fire and then the men, children and youth of the house together chant the mantra in one voice –

And through the burning of this meteor, the ancestors of our house are liberated from the divine light of this sacred wood.
For this reason, burning it on the night of Diwali is considered auspicious. This removes negativity from the home environment and infuses new energy. As per tradition, fireworks start after the hookah-chukki ritual. After that, before entering the house, everyone washes their feet and then enjoys sweets and dishes.
