Skoda Auto India has announced that all its new SUVs, Kailak, will now be available through the canteen store department (CSD) across the country. This initiative makes the SUV accessible at the subsidized rates, especially for the armed forces personnel of India, which honors those who serve and protect the nation.
About CSD
The Canteen Store Department under the Ministry of Defense is one of the largest retail ranges in India, offering products to defense personnel at concessional prices. The incorporation of Skoda’s Kailak strengthens the department’s product portfolio, especially in the SUV segment.
Kailak
MQB-A0-in platform, Kylaq is a made-in-India SUV developed with European expertise. It has earned a 5-star India NCAP security rating for both adult and child’s living protection, one of the safest SUVs in its category. Kylaq is powered by a 1.0 TSI engine, either a six-speed torque converter is available with automatic or six-speed manual transmission. The engine output is about 115 bhp while torque is rated for 178 Nm.

Skoda Kodiak Lounge launched
Skoda recently introduced a new base version of Kodiak quietly. It is called a lounge and its price 39.99 lakh East-Dhoroom. What is special about this version is that it comes only as 5-seater while Sportline and selection L&K is introduced as a 7-seater.
It is introduced in just three colors – moon white, magic black and graphite gray. The brand has chosen the option of mazeno alloy wheels that measure 18 inches in size. The interior gets two-spoke steering wheels instead of a three-spoke unit. Because it is a base version, it remembers some characteristics.
There are no changes in the engine. Therefore, it continues to use a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine that excludes 200 bhp of maximum power and 320 Nm peak torque output. It comes with a 7-speed DSG gearbox with 4×4 drivetrain.
