Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah denied the allegation of BJP leader Amit Malviya that Congress MP Rahul Gandhi had denied a meeting and ‘humiliated’ him. Malavia had earlier claimed that Gandhi had “insulted” Siddaramaiah by refusing an appointment.
Siddaramaiah faced X late on Friday night that his primary objective in Delhi was to discuss Dasara Air Show of Mysuru with Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.
Siddaramaiah said in a position on X, “My primary work in Delhi, Defense Minister Shri to discuss the air show during Dasra in Mysuru
Siddaramaiah said, “He always remembers how SMT Indira Gandhi and Mrs. Sonia Gandhi were selected from Karnataka, and how the state has been raised by the Congress at every important turn.”
He said, “The Gandhi family, including Shri Rahul Gandhi, are deeply indebted to the love taken by the people of Karnataka, and our AICC President Mr. Mallikrajun @Kharge is a proud Kannadiga.”
Siddaramaiah hit BJP
The Chief Minister also accused the BJP of cheating Kannadigs by denying central funds.
“While Mr. Rahul Gandhi is committed to bringing positive, transformative changes in Karnataka, @BJP4India has cheated Kannadigs, the money we consider to be right.
He also alleged that BJP MPs of Karnataka do not have the backbone to stand with PM Modi for the rights of Kannadigas.
He said, “@BJP4Karnatakamps does not have the backbone to stand for Narendra Modi for Kannadigas’ rights. For Modi, Karnataka is only present during elections; for Congress, Karnataka’s welfare is a daily commitment,” he said.
What did the BJP allege?
Earlier in a post on X, BJP leader Amit Malviya accused Rahul Gandhi of insulting Siddaramaiah by refusing an appointment.
Malavia said in the post, “Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah insults in Delhi! He traveled to the capital, only denied appointment by Rahul Gandhi – and now returned without any meeting.”
Malvia said, “This is not the first time a Gandhi has insulted a senior leader of Karnataka. History remembers how Rajiv Gandhi dismissed a sick Virender Patil, which triggered the Congress collapse in the state.”
He said, “Now, a weak Siddaramaiah is forced to hide behind a very man conspiring against him-Shivkumar, who is eagerly waiting to take his chair. Congress, and especially Gandhi has always treated Kannadigas with disdain. This is just the latest example.”
Siddaramaiah dismissed speculation about the change in the leadership of the state, saying that there was no discussion with the high command of the Congress about the change.
Siddaramaiah said on Friday, “How many times I tell you, this (speculation around Karnataka CM Post) was not discussed? The issue was not discussed with a high command.”
