Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on Tuesday rejected speculation about a political revaluation, stating that his recent article did not indicate “jump” to join the BJP, praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s diplomatic outreach, but a statement of national unity and interest.

The clarification of Congress MP Tharoor comes after his up-ed in the Hindu published on Monday, political death started within the Congress party. In this piece, he appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “energy, dynamics and desire to attach”, “the BJP leader was called the” major property “for India on the global stage, which deserved” more and more backing “.

Tharoor’s article, which was focused on India’s multi-nation diplomatic effort after the Pahgam terror attack, attracted sharp attention-especially the Prime Minister’s Office shared it on the X (East Twitter), and speculated more fuel.

The MP of Thiruvananthapuram said at an event, “This is not a sign of my jump to join the Prime Minister’s party (BJP), as some people are unfortunate.”

“This is a statement of national unity, national interest and standing for India, which is fundamentally in my mind why I returned to India after 25 years of service in the United Nations.”

Tharoor continued: “I did this to serve India, and I have the opportunity to do so.”

A diplomatic mission beyond politics for Tharoor

Shashi Tharoor reported that his article was focused on the diplomatic success of Operation Sindoor, which is a government-led outreach initiative, aimed at fighting the story of Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir on 22 April, claiming 26 lives.

“People always see all this in the context of today’s news,” he said.

“This is an article in which I describe the success of this outreach mission, among other things, shows the unity of all parties behind the matter of important national interest.”

Shashi Tharoor emphasized Modi’s foreign engagement as a national power.

“The Prime Minister himself has demonstrated dynamics and energy to join other countries. He has traveled to more countries than any Prime Minister and has done so to take India’s message around the world.”

He said that the efforts of the delegation were done to present the united front:

“What we all did, was giving our efforts to backup and express the message to the world to bear the strength of all various political parties, backgrounds, groups, religions in India and the message that stands for a united India.”

“Today it is a message against terrorism, tomorrow it can be a message on something else, but that support, I believe, very important.”

‘No BJP foreign policy, no Congress foreign policy’

To underline his argument, Tharoor invited a famous American dictatorship that “political differences should stay on the edge of the water.”

He said, “I have also believed the longest for the longest that political differences in our democracy should stop,” he said.

“For us, it seems that BJP is actually no such thing as foreign policy or Congress foreign policy – only Indian Foreign Policy and Indian national interest.”

“I am not saying anything new. I said this many years ago, and I said it publicly, on record, first when I became the chairman of the Committee of Foreign Affairs back in 2014.”

Congress uncomfortable, but Shashi Tharoor holds firmly

While his comment has provoked wings within the Congress-it is already important for the foreign policy of the Modi government, which claims that India has left “isolated”-Congress MP Tharoor said that his stand is in line with his long-held views.

In his article, Shashi Tharoor wrote:

“After Operation Sindoor, diplomatic outreach was a moment of national resolution and effective communication. It confirms that India, when united, can project its voice with clarity and conviction on international platforms.”

Tharoor led a multi-party delegation in the United States, part of a large Indian initiative, which sent seven delegations to 33 global capitals, underlining Pakistan’s alleged role in terrorism.

In particular, Tharoor has often expressed views on India -Pakistan dynamic that distract from their party’s line – both prepare internal criticism and topical jibbs.

‘Still loyal to Congress’

Despite the ongoing speculation, Shashi Tharoor reiterated his commitment to the Congress party, accepting internal differences.

Last week, speaking in Thiruvananthapuram, Tharoor said:

“I have differences with some under the party’s leadership, but I am not going about the by -election in Nilambur constituency in Kerala.”

He concluded on a personal note:

“Congress, its value and its workers are very dear to me.
