‘Shah Rukh should take back the decision’, Mahant Ravindra Puri angry with the entry of Bangladeshi cricketer in KKR, vented out

The purchase of Bangladeshi cricketer Mustafizur Rahman by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has become the center of controversy. KKR owner and actor Shahrukh Khan is facing opposition regarding this. Akhara Parishad President Mahant Ravindra Puri expressed his opinion on this issue. Speaking to IANS, Mahant Ravindra Puri said, ‘Whatever respect and recognition Shahrukh Khan has received is because of India and its people. In such a situation, he should fully respect the sentiments of the countrymen and the national interest.

Mahant further said, ‘Anti-national thinking or such decisions, which are against the sentiments of the country, will not be accepted under any circumstances. Our faith has been hurt by this. I want Shahrukh to take back his decision. Even before Mahant Ravindra Puri’s statement, storyteller Devkinandan Thakur had also given his reaction on this issue. Devkinandan Thakur raised questions on KKR and Shahrukh Khan and said that it was not right to bring any Bangladeshi player here. He said, ‘If any team buys him, it is not just a personal choice but against social and emotional sensibilities. There is violence against Hindus in Bangladesh and in such a situation this decision is not in accordance with the sensibilities.

BCCI’s statement came
Devkinandan Thakur warned that if Mustafizur was not removed from the team, the entire KKR team could be boycotted. Before buying such players, it should have been thought about what effect this decision will have on the sentiments of the countrymen. Mustafizur Rahman has been bought by KKR for a huge amount of Rs 9.20 crore. However, BCCI has clarified that the decision to ban Bangladeshi players will be taken only on the orders of the government. A senior BCCI official has said that Mustafizur will apply for a visa for the T20 World Cup and through this his presence in the IPL will be confirmed. In Bangladesh, Hindu youth Dipu Chandra Das was murdered by the mob, about which the Indian Foreign Ministry had expressed concern. However, the Bangladesh government termed this as a misleading statement and alleged that Dipu Chandra Das was a listed criminal. Since then, tension in India-Bangladesh relations has increased.
