Physical classes for students of classes 1 to 8 will remain suspended in Prayagraj schools tomorrow due to traffic disruption on Makar Sankranti.

In view of the traffic movement on Makar Sankranti, physical classes from classes 1 to 8 will remain suspended in all the schools of Prayagraj tomorrow, January 15. Instead, online classes will be held on that day.
“Following the instructions given by Prayagraj, in view of the convenience of transportation on the occasion of Makar Sankranti festival, classes 1 to 8 in the English/Hindi medium schools recognized/aided by all the councils and all the boards of the district Prayagraj, dated 15.01. .2025 has been declared a holiday. Classes in schools on the said date. Classes will be conducted online,” reads the official order.

Meanwhile, winter holidays are about to end in most of the schools in North India. Winter vacations are going on in all the states including Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh. All schools are scheduled to open from tomorrow, January 15, 2025. Due to cold wave and fog in North India, orders have been given to extend winter vacation in all schools. That is why most schools remained closed for two weeks in January.
However, in Ghaziabad, all schools from classes 1 to 8 will remain closed till January 18, 2025, although school staff will still have to report for work. The schools are expected to reopen for students on January 20, 2025. Due to the ongoing cold wave and foggy conditions in Noida, schools from nursery to class 8 will remain closed till further orders. On the other hand, in Gorakhpur, all government, Anganwadi and private educational institutions were scheduled to reopen tomorrow after winter holidays.
