1. Introduction of alloy wheels

One of the most notable updates on the new Himalayan 750 is the presence of alloy wheels replacing the traditional spoke design. The move marks a significant shift towards modern styling and improved practicality, as the alloy wheels are tubeless-compatible and easier to maintain. Although this setup promotes road touring, Royal Enfield also offers spoke wheels in some variants for hardcore off-road enthusiasts. Having said that, we are expecting the bike to be quite heavy, so it still won’t be the best in terms of off-roading.

The motorcycle will use a larger 750 cc mill which will be derived from the current 650 cc unit.

2. Design developed with familiar Himalayan DNA

The Himalayan 750 retains the adventure-oriented silhouette, but with notable improvements. It features a taller windscreen, larger half fairing and a redesigned fuel tank, providing better wind protection and improved ergonomics for long rides. There will also be an exoskeleton around the tank which will keep it safe in case of a fall and will also be used for loading goods. The round LED headlamps retain their identity, but the overall styling looks sharper and more premium with features like new trapezoidal mirrors and cleaner body panels. One thing we do hope is that Royal Enfield upgrades the headlights as the current LED can barely do the job in the city and isn’t really meant for highway duties. Considering that the Himalayan 750 will be a tourer, it should come with new generation, powerful headlights. If this is not the case, customers will have to opt for auxiliary lighting.

3. Updated frame, suspension and braking setup

Beneath the revised design is a new chassis paired with an upgraded suspension. The Himalayan 750 gets upside-down (USD) front forks and rear monoshock, which promises better stability and handling on mixed terrains. The braking setup is also more advanced, featuring dual discs at the front to increase stopping power.

4. Bigger and more powerful engine

The Himalayan 750 will have a larger parallel-twin engine, derived from Royal Enfield’s proven 650 cc platform, but tuned for more torque and adventure touring capability. This motor, with a capacity of around 750 cc, is likely to offer better power delivery, better low-end grunt and better highway cruising capability. The current engine can already run at triple digit speeds without any trouble. The prototype also featured an upswept exhaust, adding to its adventurous styling. It is important to note that this upswept unit is different from the one we saw on the Interceptor Bear 650.

5. Global launch expected in late 2025

Royal Enfield is expected to unveil the Himalayan 750 globally by the end of 2025, possibly at a major motorcycle show like EICMA. It appears that the bike is in its final testing stage, which suggests that its production may start soon. When launched, it will likely sit above the Himalayan 450, targeting both the domestic and international markets.
