At present there are around 2,500 vacancies in the Uttarakhand Police, from constable to sub-inspector.
To boost law enforcement in Uttarakhand, the state police department will soon begin recruitment for 2,000 new constable posts. The announcement comes after the state government approved the recruitment plan, a major step towards addressing the shortage of personnel within the force.
The police department is preparing for this recruitment drive, and the official process is expected to start soon. Currently, there are about 2,500 vacancies in Uttarakhand Police, from constable to sub-inspector. The government has authorized to fill about 2,000 of these posts, and the recruitment application forms are going to be released soon.
Apart from this, around 200 posts of last year’s recruitment, which have remained vacant due to the selected candidates leaving the job and not joining, will also be included in this campaign. Last year, around 1,700 posts were filled, but around 200 vacancies still remain.
Police spokesperson Nilesh Anand Bharane stressed that the new recruitment will significantly strengthen the police force, making more effective and efficient service possible. The recruitment will involve various units including civil police, Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) and fire services.
This recruitment effort aligns with the ongoing transition of the Revenue Police to regular police roles, and is expected to provide much-needed relief to the department, which is facing a shortage of personnel. As the state continues to enhance its law enforcement capabilities, residents can expect an increased police presence and improved service in Uttarakhand.
