Randeep Hooda shares his experiences of preparing to play the role of freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar in the film Swatantra Veer Savarkar. In a new Instagram post on Monday, the actor posted a shirtless photo to highlight his massive physical transformation, leading fans to compare him to actor Christian Bale. In the mirror selfie that Randeep posted on his Instagram, the actor looked very thin. He is seen wearing oversized shorts. In the caption he simply wrote: “Black water.” This could mean that the actor adapted to play scenes in the film that revolved around the Cellular Jail (Kala Paani).

Responding to the post, a fan said, “Our very own Christian Bale!” This was in reference to the Hollywood actor’s transition to the role in The Machinist. Christian is known to put great effort into physically preparing for a role. Another fan commented, “Just look at the dedication… salute!” One comment also read, “You did this for Sarabjit and thank you for this great honor.” This was in reference to Randeep’s role in Sarabjit, where he had to lose a lot of weight to play a character facing imprisonment in the 2016 film.
Earlier, Randeep had shared pictures in which he was seen visiting the cell in Kalapani where Savarkar was locked. He revealed that he had locked himself in prison ‘to realize what he might have gone through in the cell.’ He said, “During the recce of his biopic, I tried to lock myself inside this cell to realize what he must have gone through. I couldn’t stay locked even for 20 minutes, where he was kept in solitary confinement for 11 years. Was kept in prison.” Topic.
