New Delhi. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, who reached Russia, has done such a thing as soon as he reached there, due to which India’s enemies will not be able to sleep. It is being said that he has asked Russia to supply the remaining S-400 air defense system soon. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, during talks with Russian Foreign Minister Andrey Belousov in Moscow on Tuesday, put pressure on Russia to accelerate the supply of the remaining two units of the surface-to-air missile system ‘S-400 Triumph’.
Meanwhile, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh met Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Tuesday and both the leaders said that India-Russia partnership has immense potential and joint efforts will pave the way for ‘remarkable results’.
In a meeting with the Russian Defense Minister, Singh mentioned new opportunities for Russian defense industries in India in joint production of various military ‘hardware’ (tanks, aircraft, missiles etc.) and said that India-Russia relations are very strong and this has Fulfilled the responsibilities of a special and privileged strategic partnership.
The Defense Ministry said Singh expressed India’s determination to expand the capabilities of the country’s domestic defense industry across all sectors and industrial cooperation. Singh and Belousov co-chaired the meeting under the framework of the India-Russia Intergovernmental Commission on Military and Military Technical Cooperation. Singh is on a three-day visit to Russia.
Official sources said Singh strongly advocated for the early supply of the two remaining units of the S-400 surface-to-air missile system. Russia has completed the supply of the first three regiments of missile systems. The supply of remaining units has been delayed in view of the Ukraine conflict. Singh also called for completing the maintenance and related services of missile systems in India.
At the same time, the Russian Defense Minister stressed on deepening the relations between the two countries based on mutual trust. He also congratulated Singh for INS Tushil. The Russian-built warship was commissioned into the Indian Navy in the coastal city of Kaliningrad on Monday in the presence of Singh.
