In a unique initiative to further enhance the quality and standards of education in the state government schools, Punjab School Education Minister S Harjot Singh Bains was engaged in “dialogue with teachers” at District Education and Training Institute (Diet), Sangrur, who to get first-hand reaction and input from teachers.
Addressing the teachers, Bains highlighted transformational progress in the state’s education system, given that government schools are now globally recognized. He emphasized that the government’s approach focuses on giving tangible results instead of resorting to superficial measures.
The minister assured that the issues of teachers would be addressed by announcing a plan to revive computer labs with an investment of Rs 400 crore and said that interactive panels are being set up in schools. He also said that a third batch of teachers would be sent abroad for training, and the selection would be completely based on merit.
Additionally, the minister highlighted the initiative including promotion for lecturers, improvement in 400 new principals and improvement in the infrastructure of the school such as appropriate seating and increased access to hygiene facilities.
He further stated that the National Achievement Survey (NAS) as the top artist in 2024, cited as the emergence of Punjab as the emergence of Punjab, Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann-Netroido is the highest priority of the Punjab government, blaming it for the tireless efforts of the state government.
In addition, the Education Minister said that students from an influential 845 government school passed the highly competitive national eligibility-cum-entry test (NEET), while 265 students successfully approved the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main this year, which demonstrates the school education department’s commitment to promote educational excellence and empower the students.
He said that these remarkable achievements demonstrate the dedication of the Punjab government to ensure quality education and improve the results of student learning.
Congratulating teachers for changing education, Bains said that the state government has launched the School of Eminence, School of Happiness and School of Bryans schemes to uplift the education system and shape the future of students in government schools.
He also highlighted a groundbreaking initiative under the Aam Aadmi Party government, where teachers are being trained in honored international institutions in Singapore, Finland and Ahmedabad to modernize the state education system.
He described the dialogue with the initiative of the teachers as a leading platform, where the administration actively listens to teachers’ insight and promotes a collaborative approach to education improvement.
