Preparing for a deal or war with America? Russia on alert after Miami meeting, Kremlin’s move on Ukraine peace proposal

Moscow. Russia’s Kremlin has said that Moscow is analyzing a peace proposal presented regarding Ukraine. This proposal was submitted by a special envoy of Russia after a recent meeting with US officials. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov gave this information on Thursday. Peskov said that Russia is investigating the information provided by Kirill Dmitriev, the President’s Special Representative for Investment and Economic Cooperation. Dmitriev spoke to US officials in Miami last weekend.

“We are analyzing all this and after that, in accordance with the decision taken by the Head of State, further consultations will be continued with the American side,” Peskov said. Earlier, Peskov had said that Dmitriev had informed Russian President Vladimir Putin about the results of the Miami trip. On Sunday, the delegations of Russia and Ukraine held separate talks with the US in Florida. According to Russian news agency Sputnik, Dmitry told the media that Russia-US talks could not be disrupted despite the efforts of “warmongers”.

Meanwhile, Russia’s Defense Ministry said on Thursday that units of its ‘Southern Group of Forces’ have taken control of the Sviato-Pokrovske settlement located in the Donetsk region. “As a result of decisive actions, units of the Southern Group of Forces liberated Sviato-Pokrovske in the Donetsk region,” the ministry statement said. The Defense Ministry also said that in the last 24 hours, air defense systems shot down six aerial bombs, one American-made HIMARS rocket and 472 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) in the special military operations area.

On the other hand, officials of the Krasnodar region said that after the drone attack, two oil storage tanks caught fire in the southern Russian port city of Temryuk. However, according to preliminary information, no casualties have been reported. The fire is spread over an area of ​​approximately 2,000 square meters and 70 personnel and 18 equipment have been deployed to extinguish it. Similarly, a separate drone strike during the night targeted Nikolaevka village in the Krasnodar region, damaging several industrial structures and agricultural equipment.

On Monday, Ukrainian drones attacked the Taman port located in the Volna settlement, damaging two ferries and two tankers. Apart from this, two storage tanks were also damaged due to falling debris from the intercepted drone. Temryuk and Taman are major ports of the Black Sea, which are considered very important for the export of oil and petroleum products to Russia.
