Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday targeted opposition party India Bloc and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for their ‘BJP is trying to destroy the Constitution’ remarks and said ‘the Constitution is based on Gita, Ramayana, Mahabharata, Bible. PM Modi also said that now even the creator of the Constitution Baba Saheb Ambedkar will not be able to abolish the Indian Constitution.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in March targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), claiming they wanted to destroy the Indian Constitution. This comment comes after BJP MP Ananthkumar Hegde’s statement in which he had said that the saffron camp needs two-thirds majority to amend the Constitution.
However, the BJP has termed Hegde’s comments as “personal opinion” and sought clarification from him.
PM Modi hit back at Congress during an election rally in Barmer on Friday, saying, “Bharti alliance is lying in the name of the Constitution.”
PM Modi said, “As far as the Constitution is concerned, even if Baba Saheb Ambedkar himself comes, he cannot abolish it. For the government, the Constitution is Geeta, Ramayana, Mahabharata, Bible and Quran. For us, the Constitution is everything. Something is there.”
PM Modi said his government came up with the idea of celebrating Constitution Day, which was opposed by the Congress, and also developed ‘Panchteerth’ associated with Ambedkar.
PM Modi expressed confidence in the results of Lok Sabha elections 2024 and said that people are talking about BJP winning 400 seats this time because Congress has continuously tried to stop them from doing good work in the last 10 years.
“That’s why the country wants to punish you (Congress) and has made up its mind to clean you up,” he said.
PM Modi also criticized Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Shakti’ comment. The PM alleged that ‘Prince’ Rahul Gandhi wants to destroy the power of Hindu religion.
PM Modi said, “Our mothers and sisters will deal with those who try to destroy power.”
PM Modi also referred to the Ayodhya Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony held on January 22 and said that the Congress boycotted the event for electoral gains ahead of the Lok Sabha elections 2024.
