Car manufacturer Kia has announced to increase the prices of all its vehicles by 3%. Kia India has taken this decision due to increase in costs related to commodity and supply chain inputs. According to Kia, the new prices will be applicable from April 1, 2024.
Kia is going to increase prices for the first time this year. If the new prices are implemented, the price of Kia’s best-selling Seltos SUV may increase by around Rs 32,697. At the same time, the price of Sonet may increase by Rs 23,970 and the price of Carens by Rs 31,347.
What did Kia say?
After the announcement of increase in vehicle prices, Kia has officially issued a statement. Hardeep Singh Brar, National Head, Sales and Marketing, Kia India, said, ‘We constantly strive to provide premium and technologically advanced products to our customers. However, due to increase in commodity prices, exchange rates and input costs, we are forced to increase the prices of cars. The company spends a large part of the increased prices in production, so that customers can continue driving without putting a burden on their pockets.”
How many cars has Kia sold?
According to Kia, till now the company has sold 11.60 lakh cars in the Indian market. Seltos SUV is among the best selling cars of the company. A total of 6 lakh 13 thousand units have been sold here. At the same time, at second and third place are Sonet compact SUV and Carens MPV, whose 3.95 lakh units and 1.59 lakh units have been sold respectively.
How many cars were sold in February?
According to the FADA report, the company has sold 20,353 cars in the last month i.e. February 2024. This is 6.17% of the total passenger cars sold in India. The company had sold 20,141 cars last year i.e. in February 2023, when the company had a share of 6.86% in the total car sales.
