The symptoms and signs of gynecological cancer are vague. Screening tests can detect only breast cancer and cervical cancer. Recognizing symptoms early and discussing them with a primary care physician increases the chance of finding a treatable cancer. Gynecological cancers include uterine, ovarian, cervical, vaginal, vulva, and breast. Warning signs include abnormal uterine bleeding—irregular cycles, heaviness, spotting, and bleeding after menopause. Vaginal discharge – can be physical, as long as it is not foul-smelling, blood-tinged. Prostate cancer is the third most common cancer in Indian men, with an average age of about 70 years. For men, prostate screening through screening and PSA blood test is recommended from the age of 50. People get confused with urinary symptoms like poor flow, frequency, nocturia etc. due to prostate enlargement, which is a benign increase in the size of the prostate gland. Prostate cancer may or may not occur with it, but there is no direct link between prostate enlargement and cancer. Prostate cancer is asymptomatic, so don’t wait for symptoms to appear. If the test is abnormal or the PSA is elevated, it is necessary to perform an MRI of the prostate. Finally, cancer is confirmed by biopsy. Prostate cancer can be cured with early diagnosis. Tobacco chewers should be alert to unusual oral lesions, which could potentially be a sign of oral cancer. To prevent cancer, prioritize fruits and vegetables, avoid processed foods and maintain a healthy body mass index with regular exercise. Be alert to early symptoms such as family history, consult an oncologist immediately for expert guidance. Remember that early detection makes cancer curable.
