Medical aspirants and public across the country expressed dissatisfaction over the NEET UG 2024 results declared by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on June 4, 2024.
In a press conference, NTA Director General Subodh Kumar Singh said that the Ministry of Education has constituted a four-member panel to review the grace marks given to more than 1,500 candidates in the NEET-UG medical entrance exam. The committee will submit its report in a week and a decision will be taken accordingly.
“The panel headed by the former UPSC chairman will submit its recommendations within a week and the results of these candidates may be revised,” NTA Director General Subodh Kumar Singh said at a press conference.
Many students, parents, and teachers have been demanding the cancellation of the declared NEET UG 2024 results and a thorough investigation into the allegations of anomalies in the conduct of the exam.
DG NTA said, “The problem occurred only for 1600 students out of 24 lakh students, hence the integrity of the exam was not compromised.”

Several NEET aspirants have alleged mark-boosting, which led to a record 67 candidates securing top ranks, six of them from the same exam centre.
However, the National Testing Agency (NTA) denied any irregularities and said that changes made in NCERT textbooks and grace marks for time lost at exam centres are some of the reasons for students getting high marks.
