After about 20 years, Nissan has officially terminated GT-R35 production, giving a T-spec in the final unit, ‘Midnight Purple’.
After about two decades, Nissan has officially terminated the production of GT-R35. Launched for the first time in 2007, the car became more than just a high-demonstration machine, becoming a cultural icon, which was celebrated among video games, films and car fans worldwide.
Overall, about 48,000 r35 GT- It was produced for a long time. The very last car to leave Nissan’s Tocigy plant in Japan was a premium version, T -pake, which was depicted in the very loving ‘Midnight Purple’. It will be given to a customer in Japan, marking the end of an era.
What did R35 GT-R make?
Unlike most sports cars, GT-R mixed everyday rhetoric with supercar-level performance. It was rapid, sophisticated and packed with technology that developed continuously for years. Fans often described it as a car that can comfortably take you to the shops and then set a blistering lap time on the track, the same day.

How powerful it was?
GT-R’s hand-made twin-turbo V6 engine itself became mythical. Starting with 480 bhp in 2007, later versions grew to 570 bhp, and the NISMO version further extended that up to 600 bhp. Each engine was assembled by hand by one of Nissan’s “Takumi” master artisans, whose names were signed on a plaque fixed for each unit.

What kind of records and achievements were there?
GT-R35 gained fame for its performance in Nurburgring, one of the world’s most difficult racetrac, where it continuously improved its lap time and saw a stunning 7 minutes 8.679 seconds once. Beyond the track, it set a Guinness World Record for the fastest flow for more than 300 kmph, showing how versatile and extreme the car could be.
So, is it goodbye to GT-R forever?
Not enough. Nissan confirmed that when the R35 chapter is over, the name GT-R will return to the future. The details about the next generation GT-R are still wrapped, but the company has promised that the new car will remain till the mythological position.
