New Delhi. The country’s largest motorcycle and scooter manufacturer Hero MotoCorp has now ended the auction for ‘The Centennial’ bike. This special collectors edition bike was auctioned to raise funds for charity. The company started this auction in July 2024 and has now announced to end it.
According to the information, the company raised Rs 8.58 crore from this auction and sold 75 units. This bike is so special that only 100 units of it have been made.
Bike sold for 20.30 lakhs
The most expensive bike sold in the auction was for Rs 20.30 lakh, whose serial number was CE100. A total of 75 units of this bike were sold, from which funds worth Rs 8.58 crore have been raised.
Let us tell you that only 100 units of the Centennial Exclusive Collectors Edition are available in the Indian market, out of which 75 units have been sold during the auction. The remaining 25 bikes will be kept at Hero MotoCorp’s facility and will be sold through a contest organized for employees and customers.
Chance to win a bike in the contest
The company has launched an AI-powered contest in which more than 118 million customers will get a chance to buy this bike. This contest will be in two phases, where customers will have to share their photo and story on myheroforever@heromotocorp.com, telling how Hero’s bike has changed their life. Apart from this, photos or videos will also have to be shared on social media with #MyForeverHero. The panel will review the entries and winners will be selected based on inspirational stories.
The new Karizma is a fur-based bike
This bike is based on Hero MotoCorp’s popular Karizma XMR 210. This bike has been made keeping racing performance in mind, but its design is quite different and powerful. It has carbon fiber body panels, rear set foot pegs, adjustable suspension and Akrapovic’s carbon fiber exhaust muffler. After these changes, the bike’s weight has reduced. Hero Centennial weighs 5 kg less than Karizma XMR, while its total weight is 158 kg. The company has used MRF tires in it.
