Candidates waiting for NEET PG 2025 counseling may soon get some clarity, as the Federation of All India Medical Association (FIMA) has indicated that the process is expected to start by mid -October. In the recent social media update, Fima said, “According to our communication with MOHFW officials, NEET PG is likely to start by October.
The announcement comes after several weeks uncertainty around the counseling schedule. Candidates are eagerly waiting for official confirmation amid legal proceedings related to NEET PG 2025.
The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC), which operates counseling, is expected to release the official program on its website mcc.nic.in. Once released, the candidates will be able to complete the registration, choice and seat allocation processes as per the MCC guidelines.
Counseling delays are related to pending petitions filed by NEET PG 2025 candidates and United Doctors Front (UDF). The Supreme Court has now directed the National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) to respond to these petitions within two weeks. These legal proceedings are closely viewed by thousands of candidates, as they directly affect the post -graduate medical entry timeline.

NEET PG is a primary entrance examination for admission to postgraduate medical courses such as MD, MS and PG Diploma programs across India across India. The counseling process is an important step, which determines seat allocation based on merit and reservation categories.
